A survey conducted by Jupiter Research of internet users in the UK, Germany, France, Sweden, Italy and Spain showed that illegal download sites such as Kazaa were the most used source of sampling music digitally among 15- to 24-year-olds.



34% of 15 to 24-year-olds in the surveyed countries take the piracy route, with 6% paying for downloads. It is suggested that the record industry should grip the file-sharing concept where music fans exchange tracks free of charge over the net.
