In and out of rehabilitation, personal struggles, a divorce and tumultuous relationship with her mother and the saga of Britney Spears seems to have gone terribly wrong. Once upon a time the most demanded and popular pop artist in the world, Britney Spears has gone radically off the boil. There aren’t many who are convinced that the American music writer, songwriter and dancer can reinvent herself and restore the lost old days of the late 1990s but American rapper Timbaland is not one of them.
Timbaland is one who is confident that fallen star Britney Spears can resurrect her music career through her new album that is scheduled to be released this November.
Timbaland says,
“I would love Britney to have a smash, it would be the greatest comeback ever. I think it would be phenomenal but I think she’s got to be connected with her family. She can’t do it alone.”
Timbaland was speaking to Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show on Friday and is certainly one great well-wisher of the much troubled Britney Spears. Britney was recently hitting the headlines for the wrong reasons. Her marriage with Kevin Federline broke down at the end of last year and thereafter a string of troubles attached themselves to the 25-year old’s life.
In January this year Spears’ aunt, andra Bridges Covington, whom she had been very close to, died after a long battle with breast cancer and next month, Britney was admitted to an off-shore drug rehabilitaion centre in Antigua for less than 24 hours. The following night, Britney shaved her hair off with clippers and a few days later readmitted herself into another rehab. And there was the much publicized difference of opinion with her mother Lynne.
But Timbaland, who was the architect behind’s Justin Timberlake’s superhit song What Goes Around.....Comes Around, believes that Britney can do it with support from her family.
He says,
‘You need a team. You can’t be an island.”
Britney Spears will perform in the Music Video Awards on Sunday and that performance should give an indication whether the she can indeed make a comeback.
