The Rolling Stones performed at the Hollywood Bowl along with U2’s guitarist, the Edge, Tom Hanks and Lance Armstrong for about 18,000 fans.
This was their first performance at the venue since 1966. The two-hour set was a complete sold-out. Ain’t surprising a bit! The concert was a part of the band’s “A Bigger Bang” world tour. It is a tough job for anybody to contain Mick Jagger within the tight confines. He told the crowd that lots of things have changed, for now the tickets are being sold at $479.50, as they were for $4 only back in ‘66.
The other band members; Keith Richards, Ron Wood and Charlie Watts kept up with their respective instruments and let the songs speak for themselves. They started off with “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” “It’s Only Rock’n Roll” and “Tumbling Dice,” and moved on to epic blues (”Midnight Rambler”).
A second show will take place on Tuesday.
