System Of A Down becomes the first band in the history of the chart to score two #1 debuts with new studio albums in a single calendar year. First with Mesmerize and now with Hypnotize.
The second CD in the band’s two-part effort debuted at #1 this week on the Billboard Top 200, selling over 320,000 copies. And Mesmerize debuted at #1 on the week of May 17.
