The college tour of Sheryl Crow and Laurie David for the cause of Global Warming tour has come to an end as the two describe their efforts as part of the most important mission of the times. In an effort to spread awareness, David produced An Inconvenient Truth, an Oscar winning documentary on the issue of global warming.
Craw said in an interview,
It’s great to go out and play music, and I love that, too. And it’s also nice to make money. But this is not that. This is a whole bunch of people dedicating their time, their lives, working for free, for a mission. And it is the most important mission.
The two drove a biodiesel-fuelled bus on a 12-campus tour to raise awareness about the issue by engaging students on the topic. The campaign which had kick started earlier this month at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, concluded on Earth Day.
David is motivating Congress to enact a bill imposing compulsory curb on carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases within two years.
The two women dedicated to the environmental cause are meeting the House Energy Chairman John Dingell, D-Mich., and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., on Monday, to discuss the issue.
