Sex Pistols, Black Sabbath and Lynyrd Skynyrd are finally making it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. British heavy metal pioneers Black Sabbath and Lynyrd Skynyrd were each rejected on seven previous occasions, and the Sex Pistols four times.
Musicians become eligible for induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after their first recording. The short listed names are then sent to an international body of about 700 “rock experts and they vote for a handful of contenders.
