Jackie Chan, known more for his martial art stunts and freewill movies, has recently recorded the official song for the Beijing Summer Olympics titled ‘We Are Ready’. The song will display the actors terrific vocal skills which was in hiding so far.
Jackie’s personal blog reveals all the details, saying that the ‘Rush Hour’ star spent three hours in a studio at Beijing recording the song. This song finds its tune by composer Silver Bear Award recipient Peter Kam. For all those die hard fans of Jackie good news is that though the official song will be in Chinese there is an English version as well to the song. So no harm has been created, we all can listen to the star sing. Some part of the songs lyrics has been revealed and it goes like,
Waiting year after year/ We can see into the future/ Together with hard work and sweat, we’ve created the five different (Olympic) colors.
For many who do not know that Jackie has been affiliated with the discography world since 1984. The actor has released 10 studio albums with the last one being ‘With All One’s Heart’ (2002). The Beijing Olympics are scheduled for an officially start of August 8 and run through August 24.
Many fans will be spellbound by this opportunity for the superstar. All this while Jackie was known for his stunts on screen and his comic timing in movies like Rush Hour, or Shanghai noon or Medallian etc but this may be once in a lifetime opportunity for one an all to witness one of the greatest martial arts star exercise his vocal chords instead of his arms. Fans will surely rush in the upcoming Games highly due to the Jackie, who will definitely be considered the best ambassador of the Olympics next summer.
