Reznor’s world remains dark and stormy 365 days a year. But something that 9,944 black-clad attendees would also tell you is that Reznor can be an incredibly catchy songwriter, too. For instance, the melody of the ballad Hurt made an an aged, ailing Johnny Cashwas cover it.
NIN kept the ecstatic throngs off balance all night. Backed by four aggressive bandmates Reznor looking like a Satan’s mechanic sang the crowd a wicked song- You Know What Your Are? instigating mosh pits.
