Rock aficionados can rejoice, there is a new band in town. Vincent Gallo former Page Six member has teamed up with Hole’s former guitarist (one of Drew Barrymore’s ex-boyfriends) Eric Erlandson to form a new band. The musical duo go under the brand name RRIICCEE and if what they are saying is true, thei will not be just churn out pre-written music performances in any one specific genre, but they will go all out and explore the entire world of music.
Announcing the new band Gallo was jubilant and exulted:
Improvisation is not a good word for what we’re doing. It’s more a gesture of composing and performing at the same time, always hoping to avoid musical cliche or jamming. We’ve chosen to remain open, to grow and change more naturally. If we choose to record a performance, the recording itself is the only evidence of that creative moment.
So if you want to listen or see RRIICCEE perform, head to the Green Room on Bleecker Street on Dec. 7, when they debut. They are open to fans recording their performance and putting it on youtube, so readers out there if you are on east coast of US you can see their debut and rate them on Youtube. Here is your chance to be a music critic, go for it!
