
Ashley Tisdale, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, Taylor Swift and Natasha Bedingfield performed live during lighting ceremony of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. This ceremonial tradition dates back to 1933 and was first broadcasted in 1951.
Apart from the live performances by Ashley Tisdale, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, Taylor Swift and Natasha Bedingfield there were also few guest spots for My Name is Earl Star, Jason Lee promoting new movie Alvin and the Chipmunks, and crooner Tony Bennett, who was heard shouting ‘Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town.’
This year’s tree was first ever green Christmas tree, lightings powered by solar powered energy panels and hand-held saw was used to cut the tree. Rockefeller Center Christmas tree is a major tourist attraction for the season and will be lit until January 6, 2008
