Reclusive superstar Michael Jackson plans a dramatic comeback later this month with a performance of his classic song “Thriller,” at the World Music Awards.
Yes, it’s his first performance in a long time. It’s something of a comeback if you like.
Its been very long since Michel have made any public appearance I can only remember when he turned up to accept an award at the MTV Video Music Awards in Tokyo in May. But apart from his jaunt to Japan, the Beat It singer has spent most of the time holed up in Bahrain and Ireland.
Apart from accepting a Diamond Award that goes to artists who sell more than 100 million records worldwide, the pop king has showed intention to perform at the World Music Awards at London’s Earls Court next week. Wow- that’s something worth watching but he definitely must be feeling the pressure at the moment, knowing that he has to make his live comeback singing one of his most famous songs in front of a televised audience of around a billion people.
But the question that tickles the mind again and again is, Will Michael Jackson be able to recreate his ‘Thriller’ performance at the World Music Awards that became a phenomenon 25 years ago? These fears only because he hasn’t performed for years, to remind you guys Jackson last performed in Britain in 1997.
With Jackson’s performance, the awards show is certainly shaping up to be special but there are others to contribute for the rare performance.
Lindsay Lohan is scheduled to host the event at Earls Court Arena with performances by Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Katie Melua and Andrea Bocelli.
