Sir Paul McCartney, 64, will be a happy man as his album ‘Ecce Cor Meum’ won the best album of the year award at Classical Brit Awards. The award was voted by fans of classical music.

The victory is deeply personal to him as the recording was inspired by his late wife Linda McCartney. Paul had started work on the recording before Linda died of breast cancer in 1998. Her demise put the work on hold for a couple of years. However, it did not dissuade the Grammy award winning singer as he completed the album - a decade in the making, that he called ‘labour of love’.
One of the founding members of Beatles, McCartney was devastated at his wife’s death. He feels the album reflects his memories of their journey together from the Magdalen College days where they studied.

Sir Paul McCartney, as per Guinness World Records is the most successful composer-musician in popular music history. He has 60 gold discs and sales of 100 million singles, to his credit.
