There is a good news for pop diva Madonna to hold big celebrations as Like a Virgin singer has finally made for the nominations to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The awaited honor comes after 25 years since she first began her singing career with ‘Everybody’.
The Material Girl is one of the nominees among the Beastie Boys, the Dave Clark Five, Leonard Cohen, Afrika Bambaataa, John Mellencamp, the Ventures, Donna Summer and Chic who have been nominated for 2008’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The five nominees from the nine who gets the maximum votes will be inducted to museum, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the annual ceremony on March 10, 2008, at New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel. The museum is dedicated to the best-known and most influential people related to music and especially those who are akin with rock and roll.
Madge will surely come out as a winner as she holds the record of 2001 Guinness World Records lists as the most successful female recording artist and had 17 Top 10 hits in the 1980’s alone.
My favorites besides Madonna whom I wish should make upto the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are Beastie Boys, Leonard Cohen, Afrika Bambaataa and Donna Summer as I feel that they are more advanced than rock is.
