You can listen to music , watch the videos live and even acess previous performances. In July it is difficult to find hotels, bookings, cheap airfares when Europe is on holiday. It is not surprising the trend is to backpack and tent around ,so, instead of being there and hearing noise and blurred view why not enjoy the sunshine in a park and enjoy the Jazz festival in Switzweland !

Known as the best known music festival in the country, about 20,000 people on average attend it. Founded by Claude Nobs in 1967, for three days it featured the who is who of music of the day; Keith Jarrett, Jack De Johnette, Bill Evans, Nina Simone, Jan Garberet and Ella Fitzergerald Ray Charles. Held the Montreux Casino which burned down during Frank Zeppa’s performance and Deep Purple tells the story in their song, Smoke on the water. The festival has grown over the years covering a lot of different gere of music especially after the 80s but Brazilian music continues to dominate. Quincy Jones has been organizing the fest from 91-93 in the large convention centre as it is being done this year.

This year it starts from 6-21st July in the Stavinski Auditorium and Miles Davis Hall features not just Jazz but music from every kind. This year artists like Chemical brothers, Beastie Boys, India.Arie, Van Morrison and friends and the varity can be like,Vinnie Colaiuta, Ismael Lo, Youssou n’Dour, Wu-Tang Clanto Idrissa Diop to Norah Jones, Pet Shop Boys etc.If you want a compete set of videos u can get them at cyber music
