Megastar Latin husband-and-wife duo Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are embarking on a joint tour for the first time. The couple acted in films together and worked together on each other’s albums but this time husband-and-wife team teams up for a combined tour. And this will be her first concert tour!
The duo will start their tour on the 29th September in Atlantic City, before embarking on a number of dates all over the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.
In Billboard magazine, Anthony said,
Jennifer has never toured, I’ve toured all my life. This is where I can step in and say, Oh my god, this could be fun.
He added,
It is something she’s always wanted to do, but she’s never had the time. And I was offered many more films I never took advantage of because I was always on tour. So, yes, we’re seriously talking about going out this year (and) putting together an amazing show with just her and myself.
The couple will perform separate sets of their own stuff and will also duet together, and each set will include songs in English and Spanish.
The tickets of the show will go on sale by Aug. 10, from which some of the share of ticket sales will go to charities aimed at reducing childhood obesity in schools with high Latino enrolment. Lopez said,
We need to be active in encouraging healthy eating and the joys and fun of exercising. Preventing childhood obesity during the school years is critical, and nowhere more so than in the Latin community.
Lopez has recently made her first Spanish-speaking album ‘Como Ama Una Mujer’ that stayed No.1 position for seven consecutive weeks and also topped the Latin Billboard chart.
