Rock singer Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page have no plans to reunite their legendary 1960s band, Yardbirds. Grammy award winner and rock singer Jeff Beck has ruled out all possibilities of reunion. Beck who is scheduled for a tour this October was surrounded by rumors that he would be recruiting bassist Chris Dreja and drummer Jim McCarty for the road trip and that former member Eric Clapton will not be a part of it.
Beck’s manager has said :
There is no truth to any of the rumors regarding the guitar ace’s involvement in a potential reunion.
Keith Relf, Top Topham, Chris Dreja Paul Samwell Smith and Jim McCarty had formed the band ‘Yardbirds’ in 1962. However the camaraderie between Beck and Page was short-lived as Beck split from the band in October 1966. The band finally split in 1968 as vocalist Keith Relf died from electrocution in 1976.
Jim McCarty and Chris Dreja reformed the Yardbirds in the 1990 and keep on touring under the same name since then. Besides Jim and Dreja the other members of the band are Ben King- lead guitarist, bassist John Idan and Billy Boy Miskimmin.
In 2003, Yardbirds had released a new album, Birdland. Recently the band has released a live 2007 CD named Live At B.B. King Blues Club.
