Rapper Jay-Z’s first single ‘Blue Magic’ from his upcoming album ‘American Gangster’ has apparently leaked. The tenth album by the singer is a ‘concept’ that he got from watching the crime film of the same title. The film ‘American Gangster’ is directed by Ridley Scott and stars Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe.
The first single ‘Blue Magic’ featuring Pharrell Williams and self produced by him made its way online this week.
Shawn Corey Carter who is better known by stage name Jay-Z, revealed that watching the film ‘American Gangster’ brought the memories of hardships of street life which inspired him and helped him portray the tougher and darker mode of street-hustlers in his new album.
The album ‘American Gangster’ will be distributed by Def Jam hip-hop record label though it will not be film’s official soundtrack.
The ‘American Gangster’ film and the album release this year on November 2nd and 6th respectively.
