Michael Jackson having found that his accountants did not pay his bills despite withdrawing the money from his bank has dragged them to the court for the negligence. He is reported to have filed a lawsuit in the Los Angeles Superior Court against his former accountants, Whitman, Fox, Bernstein, Sloan and Goldman.
The accountants withdrew as much as $2.5 million every year from Jackson’s account but did not pay his bills properly. The suit alleges breach of fiduciary duty and negligence and demands damages and also asks for an accounting of the amount of money the defendants got for rendering accounting services. The suit has been brought by Michael and MJJ Productions Inc.
Jackson had hired the services of this Los Angeles-based firm in 2003. The firm was expected to manage the bills and bookkeeping for Jackson. The lawsuit also alleges that the accountants did not seek Jackson’s permission before entering into contracts on his behalf, and, also, did not keep him informed regarding his financial status.
So, Jackson is all set to give his accountants a pretty tough time in the coming future.
