Like any other inmate in a jail there is no such special treatment given to supersar rapper Foxy brown at Rikers Island Jail. The sensational star has received 76 days in punitive segregation after she has a row with another inmate.
Brown and the other inmate has a fight earlier this month for reasons unknown to anyone. Though the fight did lead Brown into islation neither of the two inamtes were injured. Brown was sent for her 76-day solitary on October 16th. The star has not only creating problems between inmates but reports have it that she was very abusive towards the correction guards and also flatly refused herself to undergo a drug test.
It is due to these combined acts of indiscipline that Brown was sent to solitary for over two months where she would spend 23 hours in complete isolation every day. Brown seems to have a remote connection with fights which doesnt go by her way. She has been serving in the Rikers Island Jail since a year for violating a probation in a case arising from a showdown she had with manicurists in a nail salon at Manhattan.
The violation was that Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, gave her anger management class a skip and decided to travel out of the city without the right permissions from the officials. To add more to the injury Brown also refused to make her presence felt at the court in Brooklyn Oct. 12 after she was accused of throwing a cellphone at a neighbor who complained about the volume of her car radio.
Brown was found guilty for assault, attempted assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon - the cellphone, which sent her packing to the Rikers Island Jail. But not much has helped the star, with her behaviour in the jail matching to that of outside. Though one thing is commendable and credit should be given to the authorities that no special treatment is given to Brown even though she is considered as one of the best rappers across the globe. Kudos to the government and officials who has been following the rules and regulations aptly irrespective of Foxy Brown’s celebrity status.
