The Detroit rapper, EMINEM’s second divorce from his wife Kim Mathers was made official on Tuesday, when the couple appeared at the brief settlement hearing at the Macomb County Circuit Court.
The case was in sight since 2000, after their first union lasted from June 1999 to October 2001. In 2000, when they’re not with each other, included Eminem’s fierce lyrics on his Slim Shady LP tune “Kim,” in which he threatened to off his wife, Mathers’ suicide attempt in 2000 and her subsequent lawsuit seeking $10 million for the emotional distress her husband’s music caused her.
The couple reconciled briefly in late 2000, however, Mathers was looking forward for an expedited divorce in March 2001, which ended up with full custody of her daughter Hailie Jade after a nasty dispute.
Earlier Eminem ended 2005 talking about taking a break as an artist, when his greatest-hits album ‘Curtain Call’ was about to release. Now he is ending 2006 in style by divorcing his wife Kim Mathers.
The couple were at the best of their behavior at the court, as Circuit Judge Antonio Viviano told, ‘both conducted themselves with dignity and respect. They were a pleasure at the court’.
Finally, both are separated forever and Eminem and Mathers will equally share the legal and physical custody of 10-year old daughter Hailie Jade Scott who will turn 11 on the Christmas day.
However, both of them have the right to look after their daughter, but they should try to re-unite once again, as this may destruct Hailie’s future. She is very young at her age and needs full support from her parents. Being apart at this stage is not a right step taken by them. Just because of a silly dispute between them they should not play with their daughter’s feelings. However, celebs don’t care!
