Glenn Hughes, the former Deep Purple singer/bassist, is working on his solo album with Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante and drummer Chad Smith. Chad Smith also co-produced Hughes’ 2005 album “Soul Mover” and will fill the same role on the new release.
The album is scheduled to be recorded at Smith’s home in the Hollywood Hills. It is going to feature tracks like “Oil and Water,” “Frail,” “Black Light,” “Stepping On” and ‘The Valiant Denial.’ J.J. Marsh will be on the guitar. He has also appeared on Hughes’ last several solo releases.
As Frusciante and Smith are busy seem busy gearing for the touring behind the RHCP’s spring 2006 studio album- Stadium Arcadium.
