Ace singer Courtney Love’s new-album-hype tour halted in NYC, the last night for an electrifying midnight performance at the Maritime Hotel’s Hiro Ballroom.
The show, which started as late as 11:00pm in no time turned into an entertaining 90 minute free show. Celebrities like Laura Prepon and Danny Masterson were also present for the high voltage event.
The scheduled, jam-packed show disappointed many fans as they could not secure an entry to the free show, which was a part of the low-key tour aimed to test and familiarize her band with a crop of new songs.
The sickly thin singer sang classics like “Celebrity Skin,” “Malibu,” “Miss World” and “Doll Parts” and some new ones from her forthcoming album like “Stephanie” and “Pacific Coast Highway.”
Love, who has already had a court-ordered rehab stint in 2005, also admitted that she had sipped wine before she took the microphone. The singer, who chainsmoked throughout the concert entertained her huge fans including hotelier Andre Balazs and designers Richie Rich and Traver Rains.
Dressed in a revealing Marc Jacobs bustier ensemble, she even said that she needed to “work on her butt.’
