Singer Beyonce Knowles has cancelled her Malaysian concert because of her unwillingness to succumb to the strict dress code of that country.
The Crazy in Love singer was slated to perform in the country’s capital Kuala Lumpur, but decided to cancel her program because she didn’t want to compromise with the strict dress code. As per the dress code, enforced once again by Malaysia’s muslim group, female performers are not allowed to reveal skin from chest down.
The Malaysian concert was a part of her ongoing tour, The Beyonce Experience Tour. The long tour, which started in April with a concert in Japan, includes gigs in China, Philippines and South Korea before it finally concludes in Taiwan this November.
Beyonce’s Malaysian gig, which would be her debut show in that country, was planned to take place at Kuala Lumpur’s Putra Indoor Stadium on November 1.
