Destiny’s Child singer and multi-platinum selling solo artist Beyonce Knowles has upset another pop diva. And this pop diva is none other than British singer Des’ree, who filed a lawsuit against ‘Dreamgirls’ star Knowles.
So Knowles- at least for now is withdrawing on the re-release of her latest album ‘B’ Day.’
The deluxe reissue of Knowles’ second album features a cover of the British soul diva’s track ‘I’m Kissing You’.
Des’ree claims that Beyonce ignored copyright rules while recording the track as ‘Still In Love (Kissing You) on B’ Day-Deluxe Edition.
And now Knowles’ record label bosses have agreed not to distribute the CDs that include the track.
Des’ree said that the terms her team gave to Knowles for the re-record of the song weren’t satisfactory so she allegedly ignored copyright law and recorded her own version.
British singer Des’ree is also seeking $150,000 in damages.
