John Winston Ono Lennon’s piano that has been in storage since 1990’s and was used by him on the night of December 8, 1980 before he died has been put up for sale for $375,000 (£189,000).
The 20th-century English songwriter and singer gained worldwide fame as one of the founders of The Beatles. This royal piano remained with him at the Record Plant Recording Studios in New York where he recorded his 1971 Imagine album. The piano is said to be the favorite of the rock star and was used for many hours on the fateful night before he was shot down. The piano meant a lot to Lennon and the staff had to move it to whichever studio Lennon went to work.
Moments in Time has also put up Lennon’s album signed for his killer Mark Chapman and a signature that he penned for one of the studio’s staff. This signature is believed to be the last thing he wrote.
In 1991 Lennon, the Imagine star was also honoured with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
