The crazy singer, Britney Spears known more for her stupid unacceptable behaviour, drinking binges and partying than her singing talent had been silent for a long time. Just when she was about to be written off, as a page 3 personality, loved by Tabloid journalists, she proves once again that she still has some talent and more than that patience and enthusiasm for music.
She has released her first studio album after a gap of four years. Titled Blackout, her first studio album, though not so good is her best work ever. The album features 12 tracks, all entertainingly hearable. Time and again her singing talent has been questioned and she has bounced back with some great songs and albums. Similarly, Blackout, is a hot, well-produced electro-pop dancefest that should return her to the top rankings in pop music.
This comes as a surprise, given her abysmal performance in the MTV Video Music Awards to her bizarre public antics, to allegations of being an irresponsible parent, Spears has done pretty well this time. After four years of crazy antics, she seems to have found her bearings and made way to the music studio and rendered a dozen good songs. She appears as a confident and sensual singer in Blackout.
I got my eye on you,
she coos on one of the album’s best tracks, Radar, a sexy techno groove that makes your body move and shake involuntarily. This is something unique to almost all of Blackout’s tracks. There are no sweet cooing songs or fluffy pop in this album - all the numbers are best played on the dance floor.
Listening to Blackout one can conclude that Spears hasn’t completely lost it. She was going through a brief period of hibernation and had bad time but has fire in her to make a career in music. And Blackout is the first, great step in making that happen.
