Singer Jessica Sierra was taken into custody in Ybor City on December 1, 2007 after a drunken confrontation with police. Sierra, the third finalist of ‘American Idol’ in 2005 has been jailed following charges of intoxication, resisting arrest and violation of her parole. The worst may be yet in store for 22-year-old Sierra as she may end up spending up to 11 years and 60 days in prison if found guilty of violating her probation.
Sierra was supposed to complete a drug-rehabilitation program that was to be televised nationally but got arrested much before that. Sierra’s arrest comes just after two weeks when she was awarded 12 months probation and random drug screening for possession of drugs and throwing a cocktail glass at Wisam Hadad, on April 29 2007, at South Tampa’s Hyde Park Cafe.
Sierra was not in her senses and was badly drunk when she was arrested in the wee hours of Saturday morning. She had a strong smell of alcohol and tried fleeing from the site. She was also refused bond by court judge on Sunday morning. Currently in Orient Road Jail she has refused to give interview to The Tampa Tribune.
Prior to this she entered a California rehab facility in July. She has also agreed to be a part of VH1 reality show, ‘Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew’ which will be debuted on January 10, 2008.
